Chappell Roan Stands Her Ground at 2024 VMAs: Claps Back at Heckler
Chappell Roan made it clear that she won’t tolerate disrespect while attending the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards on Wednesday, September 11. The Good Luck Babe singer called out a photographer who yelled at her during the event, showing that she isn't afraid to stand up for herself.
The Heated Moment on the Red Carpet
While walking the red carpet, a photographer shouted "shut the f*** up" during a chaotic moment. In a video shared by fans on X (formerly Twitter), the 26-year-old pop star immediately responded with a fierce comeback, pointing directly at the heckler and saying:
"You shut the f*** up."
Roan didn’t stop there. After pausing briefly to adjust her outfit, she turned back to the photographer and delivered a final warning:
"Don't. Not me, b***h!"
Her bold response was met with cheers from other attendees, with one onlooker shouting in support, "You tell 'em, girl!"
Roan Opens Up About Anxiety on the Red Carpet
Later in the evening, Roan spoke to Entertainment Tonight about how overwhelming the red carpet experience can be, especially for someone who deals with anxiety in high-pressure situations. She admitted:
"This is quite overwhelming and quite scary. For someone who gets a lot of anxiety around people yelling at you, the carpet is horrifying. And I yelled back! You don’t get to yell at me like that."
A Big Win: Best New Artist at the 2024 VMAs
Despite the intense moment on the red carpet, the night ended on a high note for Chappell Roan. The Hot 2 Go singer went on to win her first-ever VMA for Best New Artist, cementing her place as a rising star in the music industry.
