Lady Gaga Praises Fellow Female Pop Stars and Shares Love for Taylor Swift, Kesha, and More
Lady Gaga has nothing but admiration for her fellow pop stars, showering love on Taylor Swift, Kesha, Charli XCX, Chappell Roan, and Billie Eilish.
In her Vogue cover story published Thursday (Sept. 5), the 38-year-old pop icon became emotional while talking about these female singer-songwriters.
“I mean, I really love them,” she shared tearfully. “I go on the internet and, like, cry. And I love Taylor Swift too. And Kesha. I watch it all, and I’m like: Yup. Go! Just go!”
Gaga continued, adding:
“I’m not only cheering them on, I want them to know that my heart is in it with them. And I want them all to feel really happy.”
Gaga’s Love for the Industry and Fellow Artists
The interview came as Gaga is busy promoting Joker: Folie à Deux at the Venice International Film Festival. While signing autographs there, she gave a special shout-out to Chappell Roan, calling herself a “huge” fan of the Hot to Go! singer.
In addition to her film commitments, the Oscar-winning singer-songwriter is preparing to release her seventh studio album, which she confirmed in the interview is set to drop in February.
A Personal Milestone: Engagement to Michael Polansky
Gaga also opened up about her engagement to entrepreneur Michael Polansky, revealing that they got engaged in April after a day of rock climbing. She shared that it was her fiancé who encouraged her to reconnect with her pop roots on her upcoming album.
Reflecting on how they met, Gaga recalled:
“My mom met him [first], and she said to me, ‘I think I just met your husband.’ And I said, ‘I’m not ready to meet my husband!’ I could never have imagined that my mom … found the most perfect person for me?”
Polansky also reminisced about their first meeting at Sean Parker’s birthday party in 2019, where they spoke for three hours.
“I didn’t know much about her and honestly wasn’t sure what to expect,” Polanksy said. “I was struck immediately by her warmth and openness — she was so genuinely curious about what my life was like growing up in Minnesota.”
